Robert McGuire is the co-founder and owner of Brave Beginnings Counseling, PLLC. He is an affiliate of Central Psych Charlotte — a cohort of counseling professionals serving the Charlotte community. With a deep commitment to compassionate, evidence-based care, Robert brings expertise and genuine dedication to every client he serves. A native of Charlotte and a proud, active member of the community, Robert serves in multiple capacities at the church he attends and is passionate and feels blessed to have these opportunities. His love for his faith, family, and community flows naturally into his professional work and the journey he walks alongside with every client.
Brave Beginnings Counseling was founded in part by Robert's passion and deep enjoyment of life and God's creation all around us. This is reflected in his love of nature and spending time outdoors — whether hiking, camping, playing, or simply sitting, reflecting, and resting in God's presence. In those quiet moments there is a daily reminder that although there is immeasurable beauty and joy to be experienced in life, there is also significant darkness — with tragedy, pain, sadness, struggle, grief, addiction, and trauma. It is in response to this that Robert felt and answered a call into this area of service: to respond to these difficult struggles by joining with and guiding individuals and couples through the sometimes difficult and messy paths of healing, recovery, and restoration.
